Arizona High School Boys & Girls Top 16 Rankings: Updated January 8

PHOENIX (Thursday, January 8, 2015) - From now and until the conclusion of the 2014-15 Arizona High School soccer season, AZKicksit will be posting the “AZKicksit Top 16 Boys and Girls H.S. Soccer Teams in Arizona”.

• READ: The concept behind the 16 teams is that if AZKicksIt was empowered to name a field of 16 for a postseason tournament, regardless of what division a team is in, the teams below would be in that tournament that would crown a Arizona champion. 

The top 16 teams will be updated every Tuesday (today is the lone Thursday post), and the list may include teams from the three different divisions of soccer in Arizona: DI, DII or DIII.

It’s easy to get caught up in stats, particularly compiled by players and teams from smaller leagues. By no means are our top 16 lists perfect, and every year you will see a few teams who are undervalued or overvalued, but AZKicksit watches matches, communicates regularly with sources throughout the state and has put much consideration into the list; looking into tournament results, regular season matches, strength of schedule, college commitments and more.

NOTE: The top 16 list will always be in alphabetical order and at the conclusion of the high school season AZKicksit name an “AZKicksit All-Arizona Team”.
